On Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Town Hall, the Cheshire Town Council will present a proclamation to the Cheshire High School ice hockey program. The honor will be in recognition of the program’s reaching 50 years and ending the season as Division II state champions.

On March 18 at Quinnipiac University’s M&T Bank Arena, the Rams won 6-3 over East Haven Co-Op to claim a state crown for the first time since 2011. The victory clinched the best record (24-1-1) in program history.

On March 1 at West Haven’s Bennett Rink, Cheshire beat Amity, 7-1, to win the Southern Connecticut Conference/South West Conference title for the first time since 2010.
