CHS Boys' Lacrosse Beats Trojans To Extend Win Streak

On Saturday, Cheshire High School boys’ lacrosse (9-1) pushed their win streak to eight games, winning 15-4 at Simsbury (5-3). CHS built a 9-1 lead at halftime.

Junior Sean Grevelding tallied seven goals and senior tri-captain Matt Jeffery recorded a hat trick. Both players had two assists.

Freshman Grant Paul contributed two goals and an assist, while senior Adam Vernon and junior Brady Potyrala both posted a goal and an assist. Junior Nick Miller also scored.

Senior tri-captain Ryan Grove controlled 17 of 23 face-offs. Junior goalkeeper Joe Grenier made 11 saves.

This Tuesday, the Rams come home to play Daniel Hand (4-7) at 6:30 p.m.

Monday’s varsity schedule:

Boys’ Golf (2-2)

Cheshire hosts Cromwell and Shelton at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford. Start time is 2:30 p.m.

Girls’ Tennis (6-1)

CHS plays Amity (7-1) at 3:45 p.m. With a 4-3 victory on April 5 in Woodbridge, Cheshire is the only team to have beaten the Spartans this year.

Softball (10-1)

Riding a six-game win streak, the Rams visit Milford to play Jonathan Law (9-3) at 4 p.m. On April 10, Cheshire earned a 5-4 walk-off victory in the first meeting.

Girls’ Lacrosse (6-4)

CHS travels to Madison’s Surf Club to play host Daniel Hand (8-2) at 6 p.m.

Baseball (2-9)

Cheshire takes a trip to Southington (11-0) to compete at 6 p.m.

Boys’ Volleyball (8-2)

The Rams carry their six-match win streak into Redding to play Joel Barlow (11-0) at 6 p.m.
